William Raymond
Maier
June 21, 1950 – July 6, 2024
Bill was called to heaven from his home in Hanford. He was born in Chicago, he grew up in Long Beach, California. He made his way to Hanford though work, where he decided to stay and continue in plumbing, he worked for a couple of employers then found himself at Lemoore Naval Air Station. For many years, he worked in the California State Prison System at Avenal, Pleasant Valley Coalinga and Corcoran. After retirement, he started his own Backflow business, he retired in December 2023.
Bill was an avid dove hunter and fishermen; if he wasn't found doing either of those things he would be watching the thing he loved to watch the most the Chicago Cubs, Boston Celtics, or the Cleveland Browns. Some of his friends and co-workers called him "Creboy", since he always wore his Cub hat.
He loved animals, some of his pets included Great Danes, Labs, and Turtles to name a few.
Bill leaves behind his loving wife of 43 years, Jolene and a foster son Clyde Matthews and his much loved four-legged friend Angel, his sisters; Dale Lyn Maier of Manhattan Beach, CA., Jill Ann Hemally of Virginia, his brother Jack Maier of Utah, and sister in-law Linda Maier of LA., and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents Don and Doris Maier, and his older brother Don Maier Jr.
