Wayne Alan
Fisher
September 23, 1959 – March 4, 2021
Wayne Alan Fisher, 61, peacefully passed away on the afternoon of March 4, 2021.
Wayne Alan Fisher, son of the late Donald and Arlene Fisher was born on September 23, 1959 in Ithaca, New York. He was raised with his three brothers on the family's Enfield Dairy Farm. After graduating from Odessa High School in 1977, he enlisted into the United States Air Force. He was an aircraft mechanic with the rank of Sergeant and was stationed at Eglin Air Force base in Florida from 1977-1981. After being honorably released from active duty, he continued to serve in the Air National Guard and was very proud of his service.
Wayne came to the Central Valley in the 1980's and in 1992 he moved to Coalinga, which became his home. He was very fond of the years he spent working for Harris Farms and Harris Ranch Inn and Restaurant. In 2000 Wayne began his career with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation at Pleasant Valley State Prison where he worked as a Carpenter for almost 21 years until his passing.
Wayne was a dedicated father and loved his family dearly. He was well known for being behind the BBQ cooking and serving at many community events and fundraisers. Wayne loved to travel and experience new places, often making new friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed listening to music and one of his favorite pastimes was spending time with friends and family on the back porch. Wayne was the kind of guy that if you were friends with him you loved him. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everybody that knew him.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Brian Fisher. He is survived by his brother's Brad Fisher and William Fisher.
His son Benjamín Wayne Fisher-Sosa and partner Saul Fisher-Sosa, daughter Melissa Don Fisher and grandchildren Kelsie Hwang and Kailin Hwang. His former wife Margo Salaiza Perkins and their sons, Seth Daniel Fisher and Shayne Alan Fisher. His fiancé Julie Harshman.
Rest in peace, Dad. You are always loved and never forgotten.
