Vi" Smith
August 11, 1957 – February 19, 2025
Viola " Vi" Smith, Beloved Mother, Sister and Friend, passed away on February 19th. 2025 at the age of 67. Vi was born on August 11th, 1957, in Riverside, California to Amie Mae Smith and Little David Smith. She was the third eldest of 8 children in her family.
Vi spent her early years in Hanford, attending local schools: Lincoln elementary, Woodrow Wilson Middle School, and Hanford High School where she graduated. She furthered her education at College of Sequoias, Visalia/Hanford Branch, taking general education courses. Throughout her life, Vi accepted the Lord and had a deep love for the Lord and walked in Faith. She enjoyed fishing and cherished her time with family. She spent many happy years traveling between Denver, Colorado and Hanford, California until her passing.
Vi was preceded in death by her Parents Amie Mae Smith and Little David Smith, (Step-Mom) Willie Mae Smith, her siblings Roy Lee Rogers, Georgia Mae Brown and Dorothy Smith; her son Ernest Bryant Evans Jr (1995) and her son Thomas Bryant Smith (2019). She is survived by her only Sister Esther Smith Bowens and her husband Warren David Bowens, her three brothers David Jr. (Big Bird) Willie Smith (Denver, CO.) and Anthony Smith (Hanford, CA.). She also leaves to mourn her children, Daughter Yvette (Evans) Velazquez and husband Gabriel Velazquez, her Granddaughter Chalyce Williams-Evans "Chay" (daughter Alexyon) Grandson (David Jr.) Granddaughters, Gabriella and Neriyah: and her youngest Son William Christian Wayne Bobo. Additionally, she is survived by her late son Thomas's children, Bryant Thomas and Janiyah (Missouri). She leaves behind a loving family and a host of relatives and friends who continue to keep her memory alive in their hearts and prayers.
The Sun rose on Vi on August 11th, 1957, and Set on her February 19th.2025. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts with love. Rest in peace, Vi.
