Timothy -
Harrah
March 1, 2026
Timothy James Harrah was delivered into this world at 9:26 in the evening of Thursday, October 13, 1949, by Dr. Earl O. Hagen at the Hanford Sanitarium to Bill & W. Louise Harrah, and big sister Fiona. A few years later, sister Kathleen came along to complete the family. Tim shuffled off this mortal coil, joining his parents and younger sister in the evening of March 1, 2026, in Clovis, CA at the age of 76.
Timmy, as the ladies of the family called him, could often be found running about Champion Street in Lemoore, back and forth between the Harrah households with cousins Jack, Pat, John, and Bob. This was of course, before highway 198 was built, so there was plenty of room to play army men, cowboys and indians, and any other trouble the 5 boys can get into under the watchful eye of their grandma. Childhood games gave way to motorcycle riding out on the west side, then the Army National Guard, and drag racing, which led him to meet his lifetime love.
The story goes, his drag racing partner’s nephew thought it would be funny to set up Timmy & his sister, Stephanie, on a blind date. That was the end of April. They got engaged, out on Lake Kaweah on the 4 th of July and were married, on the first of November. In a marriage that everyone said, “would never last,” Tim & Stephanie, along with their kids, Beth and Shawn, and families, celebrated their 50 years of marriage this last November. Son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, boss. Tim wore many, many hats in his life, his favorites being husband, dad, grandad. Tim was Beth and Shawn’s cheerleader in little league, soccer, track, academics, and later, when Beth and Shawn took up the same sports he played, water polo and swimming, reminding us that there were still points for 4th place. If you’ve ever watched Jeopardy with Shawn, or even Beth, you know they know more answers than the average bear, but
Tim was the one to watch out for. The more obscure, especially in science and history, the more likely it was that Tim had the answer. Definitions for literature homework, piece of cake. Sentences the next night for those same vocabulary words meant quality time our dad, Tim. The kids’ college years meant trips to the beach, and Tim’s beloved Redwood Forest and Oregon Coast. The Ewoks and Jurassic Park will forever remind us of dad. To carry on his legacy, Tim leaves his adventure partner and wife of 50 years, Stephanie, daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Charlie Gazarek, son and Daughter-in-law, Shawn and Diana Harrah, six grandsons, Kaden and Tyler Swiney, Brady Gazarek, and James, Liam, and Xander Harrah, as well as one granddaughter, his Viking Princess and namesake, Jaimie Gazarek.
The family would like to thank Dr. Haifaa Abdulhaq at CCI in Clovis, along with her team, Stephanie, Erin, Natalia, Kathy, Karina, Choua, Elizabeth, and Nathan for the last 10 years of amazing support in helping Tim with his CLL (leukemia) and MDS, both blood cancers. The family participates in the Central Valley Light the Night each November for Blood Cancer United, formally known as LLS, for Team HEME in Fresno at Chukchansi Park. Please join us this year. Also, we would like to Thank everyone in the Infusion Center on the 3rd floor. We would also like to Thank Garnett W. for making the last 8 months easier.
A Celebration of Life is planned for August 1, 2026. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to Blood Cancer United or Cal Poly Humboldt.
