Obituary

Rosa Amelia Rivera, better known to all as "Lili,"was born in Sinaloa, Mexico, on November 21, 1948. She graced the world with her infectious smile, compassionate nature, and skilled cooking.
She started her life in Huron, California. Along with raising her family, she opened and operated El Sinalonese Cafe for several years. Here she proudly shared her authentic Mexican dishes. Years later, she spread her love working for the historic Lassen Market. So many grew to know and love her meals and loving nature.
Lili's retirement years brought her to Lemoore, California. She retired from working but never stopped using her pots and pans. She entertained herself with her favorite passtimes~ family and gaming. While in helping care for her grandchildren, she devoted her time in teaching them her trade but also in learning about them individually.

Lili loved her loteria and toma toda challenges. However, no one could keep her away from her days at bingo nor the slot machines. She loved playing at local casinos, but more so, at the lucky ones across the states.

Lili was a social butterfly and truly loved by each person she met. She left her mark with her lively spirit, countless stories, her unforgettable laughter, and her infamous touch-- FOOD.

Lili had a heart of gold. Her heart beat for her life-long partner of 30+ years, Miguel Angel Lopez Leal. They were insperable. They loved traveling to see family in Mexico and her children in different states.
Anyone who knew Lili knew she loved her little casita... it was a house, they both made a home. She enjoyed their garden Migi kept harvested all year long. Lili had an open door policy. She feed her neighbors, the mailman, the sick, the poor,  anyone who came in her path. It was her way of spreading love, her wealth,.. it was her signature.

She leaves behind her legacy, her pride and joy--her everything-- "mi familia." Lili is survived by her five amazing children: Araceli (Samuel) Avina, Lemoore, CA. German (Ernestina) Obeso, Hanford, CA. Maria (Francois) Boutin, Defuniak Springs, FL. Valentin (Christi) Rivera, Las Vegas, NV. And, Rosalilia Barbee, Lemoore, CA.
Lili has 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  There are a vast majority of extended family and friends that will cherish her memory forever.

This world will never be the same for us; but blessed and honored we are to have had spent precious years with our angel on earth. Until we sing, hug, and dance again Mom... tu espíritu vivirá para siempre-- "¡Viva la Revolución!"

Private Graveside Services will be conducted at Sunflower Fields Cemetery in Lemoore, California.
