Mr. NATHANIEL LEE BROWN was born on August 30, 1931 in Boynton (Muskogee County), Oklahoma, the fifth of seven Siblings in the Mr. and Mrs. Levi and Marzetta Brown Family: Ms. Monzola; Ms. Loetha; Mr. Alphonzo; Ms. Frankie; Mr. Nathaniel; Mr. Ivory; and Ms. Cardelia
He joined the Cherryville Baptist Church at an early age, and graduated from Wheatley High School in 1949. While later working for the Schell Nursery and Landscape Company, Nathaniel was drafted to serve in the United States Army in 1952, where he served for five years and three months as a Military Policeman. Tours of Duty: Fort Dix, New Jersey; Fort Richardson, Alaska. After being HONORBLY DISCHARGED from the Army, he decided to reside in Oakland, California, and became a student at the Oakland City College, where he received his Associates of Arts Degree in Graphic Arts. He later worked for the United States Postal Service for two years, and the City of Oakland, California for 16 years, from which he retired on Disability.
Mr. Brown is the last of his Siblings to pass away, and leaves to mourn a host of Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Friends: Nephew Ardie Minor (Patty) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Niece Paulette Waterhouse of North Las Vegas, Nevada; Nephew Ronnie Brown of Benton Harbor, MI; Nephew Charles Brown of Benton Harbor, MI; Nephew Alphonso Brown of Kansas City, Missouri; Nephew Patrick Brown of New York City, New York ; Niece Aretha White of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; Niece Belva White of McAlester, Oklahoma; Nephew Leland Brown of Gardena, California; and Niece Ivetta Brown of Gardena, California. HONORABLY-Mentioned Friends: Mr. John Hendrix (Oneida) of Hanford, California; Mr. Arthur Beverly of Oakland, California; Ms. Alice Webb of Oakland, California; Ms. Vernell Lane of Middletown, Ohio; Ms. Margaret White (Alex-deceased) of Oakland, California; and Earl Porter (Vivian) of Oakland, California
Mr. Brown Fathered four Children: Daughter Mary A. Brown-Waggoner (Albert) of Sanger, California (both preceded him in Death); Valoria A. Brown-Volasgis (Vincent, Sr.) of Orange Park, Florida; and Twin Sons Wayne Lane of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Dwayne Lane of Chicago, Illinois.
