Monte A Lewis Jr, a life-long resident of Reedley, CA, died unexpectedly on February 3, 2018 at the age of 45.
Monte is survived by his children; Montana and Melody, his father Monte Sr, his sister Tris, his brother Scott, and many many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He is predeceased by his grandparents, his mother Wilma, and his 2nd wife Selena.
Monte was born in Dinuba on January 27, 1973 to Wilma and Monte Lewis Sr. Monte was most proud of his job at Gar Tootelian. He worked there for about 14 years and was very fond of the company and his coworkers. He had two daughters from his first wife, and two step-daughters from his second.
Monte loved his daughters very much and was very proud of their achievements. He enjoyed movies, music, and the beach. He enjoyed doing handy work, and loved working outside in the yard, and wasn't afraid to do dishes. He loved to be around his family and friends, this was the foundation of his happiness. Friends have described him as "fun, cool, a good man with honor, principles, and character."
He was a spiritual man and believed in God wholeheartedly. He would often be involved in church activities. He knew that when he died he would be with his savior, Jesus Christ.
He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24 at the Reedley Evangelical Free Church at 314 W Manning Ave in Reedley CA. Pastor Ernie will officiate and Michelle Smith will read a Eulogy. Lunch will follow. Flowers, and condolences may be offered at the church.
