Obituary

Margaret Louise Wade passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2024, at the age of 61.  Margaret (Maggie) was born on November 3, 1962, in West Palm Beach, Florida to Seaborn Howard Wade Jr. and Louise Ware Wade.  Seaborn Wade was an Aviator in the US Navy so moving every few years was the norm during her childhood as the family transferred to new duty stations.  She lived in Florida, Mississippi, Puerto Rico and California.  Home was always where the family was, and Margaret's childhood was filled with adventures seeing and trying new things with her family in new places.  She loved the beach, sailing, camping, writing to pen pals, and family gatherings.  Her favorite things included playing Scrabble, music and singing, going to church, everything pink, Mom's recipe for Indian Corn Stew, chocolate milkshakes, weekly phone calls with close friends, puzzles, coloring, books about animals, shopping trips and being with her family.  She particularly loved visits from her globetrotting brother Mike, who always spent a day with her when he was in California; a special bond grew out of those times.

Holidays were especially important to Margaret, and she tried to always do stockings with her nephews and exchange presents with the family on Christmas.  Her birthday was never, never to be forgotten and Margaret loved to start reminding everyone a month before that it was approaching.

She also remembered and could share all the family stories.  Often was the time that she reminded her sister, in detail, of special but forgotten events from childhood.  Margaret craved connection and loved to communicate by telephone, asking for all the news so that she always knew what was currently going on with every member of the family, no matter how far away they were. She kept everyone up to date on the latest milestones and family happenings.

Margaret had a deep faith and loved Jesus. Her life was spent mostly in board-and-care homes due to mental illness but that rarely stopped her from forming prayer groups or bible studies with other clients and staff that cared for her.  She always believed she would be with Mom in heaven someday and her family is confident she is there now, joyfully healthy and free from the illnesses she endured in life.

Her family is especially grateful to the loving staff of Kings County Behavioral Health who saw to all of Margaret's needs with dignity and loving care for many years.

Margaret is survived by her sister Linda Stolling; her brothers; Michael Wade and Robert Wade; and 13 nieces and nephews. Her aunt, Sara Ware; her stepmother Juanita Wade;
