Larry Travis
Cullins Sr.
July 30, 1967 – April 25, 2025
Travis Cullins Sr. of Coalinga, California, finally found the one thing that could slow him down—permanently. He passed away on April 24, 2025, at the age of 57 from a bad ticker (heart attack), leaving behind a complicated legacy, a few wild stories, and two kids who inherited his sarcasm and sense of humor.
Born on July 30, 1967, Travis lived life by his own rules—usually off the grid, often off the rails, and tires spinning. He fought addiction for years, a battle that strained relationships and kept him at arm's length. But he was always a presence—sometimes in the background, sometimes front and center, and often the guy you called when you needed help, as long as you had gas money.
When he arrived at the pearly gates, he probably had a smirk on his face, a Pepsi in one hand, a cigarette in the other, and at least one smart comment. Hopefully, heaven's ready.
He is survived by his son, Larry Cullins; his daughter, Kayla Simpson; and the memory of his mother, Sallie Compton—who, no doubt, greeted him with a deep sigh and a "Well, that didn't take long."
There will be no formal service. If you knew Travis, raise a glass, tell a wild story, and maybe check in on the friends still trying to figure it out. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to addiction recovery programs—because someone else's Travis might still have time.
