Julio Javier" Gabe" De Leon passed away peacefully on September 15, 2022, at the age of 77 surrounded by friends and family in his hometown of Hanford, California. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile, despite the pain, Gabe came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
Gave was the first born to Margarito and Maria De Leon in Salinas Victoria Nuevo Leon, Mexico in 1945. He lived in San Benito, Texas and then moved to Hanford, California with his parent and three brothers and three sisters.
Gabe was a member of the Carpenters Union No. 1109 for many years and remained an active member after his retirement.
His many hobbies included fishing, camping, arts and crafts, wood working and traveling the United States. He also enjoyed football season, "Go Cowboys!"
He and his beloved wife, Socorro "Smokey" found their dream home where he enjoyed perfecting and building on to it while raising their three children, Anthony, Diana and Michael. His love for his seven grandchildren, three great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews was immeasurable.
He will be dearly missed by his family and numerous friends
