Obituary

Joseph "Joe" Neil Boone passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 12th. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend—whose presence anchored his family. Joe was the kind of man people counted on fair, intelligent, hardworking, and deeply kind. He
loved completely and showed up every day for the people and things that mattered most. Born in Porterville to Modelle and Thomas Boone in 1950 and raised in Strathmore, Joe was a lifelong resident of California's Central Valley. He graduated from Strathmore High School in 1968, attended Porterville College, and proudly served his country after enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1971. He met the love of his life, Linda Lee Bennett in 1975. They married in 1976 and would go on to share 50 years of marriage rooted in devotion, partnership, and family.
Joe was a skilled and dedicated appliance technician, working alongside his brother at Sierra Appliance in Porterville, later at Montgomery Ward, and eventually retiring from Sears in 2012. A hard worker by nature, he took pride in doing things the right way and was known for his
integrity, honesty, and dependability. A man of deep faith, Joe loved God and found strength and peace in reading his Bible daily. He
appreciated a simple, meaningful life—working in his garden, tending to his plants, cooking for those he loved, and always lending a hand to neighbors, friends, or family. He had a great sense of humor, a calm wisdom, and a quiet way of making people feel safe and cared for.
Joe was also an animal lover and took great joy in caring for his many dogs and cats over the years. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing and golfing, and he especially cherished the years spent coaching and playing slow-pitch softball with his children through their church
league.
Above all else, Joe was most proud of his family. He was a loving and devoted grandfather who found true joy in everyday moments spending summers with his grandchildren, picking them up from school, and simply being present. His love showed itself in unforgettable ways: homegrown tomatoes shared freely, jars of homemade jam, and his delicious apple pies, always made with care and love.
In 2011, Joe and Linda moved to Hanford to be closer to their grandchildren, where he remained a constant in their lives.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Linda Lee Boone; his daughters Laura Noelle of Tulare, Jennifer Boone (Chris) of Visalia, Christine Young (Mark) of Hanford, and son Joseph Boone of Hanford; his cherished grandchildren Brett Hulsey, Lawrence Noelle,
Colton, Caleb, and Chloe Machado, and Emily and Jackson Reinhart. He is also survived by his brother Thomas "Butch" Boone (Linda), sister Nancy Curbow, and brother Leo Boone (Pam). Brother-in-law Jim Bennett (Judy), along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson Boone and Modelle Ruth Boone, and his nephew Scott Jeffrey Boone and niece Michelle Lyn Curbow.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, January 10 th 11 am, at The Harvest Center, 23085 Ave 194, Strathmore, California, 93267. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that acts of kindness be carried out in Joe's memory—something he lived by every day.

Joe was the rock of his family—a man who loved deeply, worked hard, and cared for everyone
around him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
