Jesus "Chuy"
Angel
May 13, 1965 – October 4, 2023
Jesus Angel, "Chuy", 56, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on October 4, 2023. Chuy fought a difficult battle with cancer and is finally at rest and free from any illness and pain.
Chuy was one of 20 children born to Juan & Guadalupe Angel in Degollado, Jalisco.
As a young boy he was always trying to find ways to make his own money, including selling popcorn or cucumbers on the street. At the age of 15, Chuy made his way to the United States. He spent his earlier years living in the State of Washington before settling and making his life in California.
Chuy had experience in many professions. He worked in a restaurant, landscaping, a nursery, construction, and as a mechanic. But the majority of his work history was spent in the agricultural field. I guess you could say he was a "jack of all trades". When he wasn't working, Chuy enjoyed spending time with family and friends. What truly made him happy was seeing everyone enjoy the food he prepared especially for them. There were many, but some of his specialties were carnitas, tamales, pozole, and salsa. He also enjoyed tending to his garden, but his real passion was restoring old cars. Although he loved the candy apple red, blue was his favorite color. Chuy was always ready for a road trip, ready for new adventures.
Chuy always had a special way to make people laugh. Chuy was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
He was a loving son, brother, uncle, dad, grandpa, and great friend.
Chuy was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Guadalupe Angel and other siblings. He is survived by his sons, Jesus, Elias, and Aidan; daughters, Luz Mendez (Ricardo) and Estela Martinez; grandchildren, Jesus, Gabriel, Xavier, Alvaro, Maria, Miguel, Ricardo, Carla, Marisela, Gilberto, Carlitos and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express its sincere thanks and appreciation to his ex-wife, Elaine Angel and his lifelong friends Jonathan Damian, Elias and Maria Silva.
