Guadalupe Castillo
Magnia
May 7, 1945 – November 22, 2025
Guadalupe Castillo Magnia, 80, of Hanford, California, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 22, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 7, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Santino and Adela Magnia. He grew up in a large, loving family with nine brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Genevieve Magnia; his children Martin Magnia, Cristel Aubery, and Daniel Magnia; his stepson Michael Valdez; 12 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and other loved ones who welcomed him home.
A proud Vietnam veteran, Guadalupe served honorably in the United States Army, 1st Cavalry Division (Air Mobile), and was awarded the Purple Heart among other commendations for his bravery. After his military service, he owned and operated Washburn-Magnia Plumbing in Hanford, California, for many years before continuing his career with the Hanford Elementary School District, where he later retired.
Guadalupe was a man of faith and will be remembered as a man who saw the best in everyone. If someone needed help, he never asked why; he simply showed up. He loved his family deeply, enjoyed car races, mowing his lawn, and sharing his thoughts on life—and even aliens. He was humble, generous, and fought with courage until the very end.
