Donald Ray
Ivey
May 11, 1953 – February 7, 2026
Donald Ray Ivey, 72, was born on May 11, 1953, in Meridian, Mississippi, to Rosie Lee Ivey and William "Bill" Edward Ivey. He entered into eternal rest on February 7, 2026, and, in his final days, found peace in surrendering his life to the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosie and Bill; his siblings Frances Goldsmith, Robert Ivey, and Danny Ivey; and his son, Brolin Ivey. We trust they were there to receive him as he entered Heaven.
Donald is survived by his wife of 40 years, Vicky Ivey, and his siblings: Trudy Minter, Anita Williams, Betty Bohannan, Sheena Killgore, and Donna Davis.
He is also survived by his children: Sandy Ivey, Melissa Ivey, Matthew Ivey, Jodi Morgan, Jacob Ivey, Joshua Ivey, and Caleb Ivey. He is further survived by 17 grandchildren.
Though his life journey had many challenges, his final testimony is one of redemption and hope. Two days before his passing, at his own request, Donald was baptized by his son Jacob in his own bathtub, with his sister Trudy present as a witness. In that intimate and powerful moment, he gave his heart to Jesus Christ and accepted Him as his Lord and Savior. We take comfort knowing his soul was saved, that he was forgiven, and that Jesus prepared a place for him and welcomed him home.
Jesus said in John 11:25–26, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in Me will never die."
Donald's story is a reminder that it is never too late to turn to Christ. No matter your past, no matter the struggles you have faced, His grace is greater, His mercy is boundless, and His love never fails. If you read this and have not yet made Jesus your Savior, know that He is calling you now. Today is the day to surrender your heart, to trust Him, and to receive the gift of eternal life. Just as Donald's last days were transformed by God's mercy, your life can be changed forever through faith in Christ.
Donald is now at peace, resting in the arms of his Savior, surrounded by the love of God.
