Demaris Dee
Buck
September 19, 1952 – February 24, 2022
Demaris "Dee" Buck, 69, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2022 following an extended battle with multiple health issues. She was surrounded by her loved ones.
Dee was born in Jamestown, North Dakota on September 19, 1952 to Edward & Amelia Wiest. She was the youngest of six children: Wallace, Dolores, Leroy, Elroy, and Doris.
She met Vernon Niess in Jamestown, ND; they were later married in 1971. Together with Vernon, she had four children: Shawn, Jason, Tiffany, & Robert. Dee and Vernon divorced in 1983. She later moved to California in 1989.
Once in California, she met Leonard Acquistapace and the two have lived together for 32 years, up until the time of her death.
Dee worked tirelessly to provide for her family. She worked in many types of jobs, often at the same time, eventually working her way up to become a postmaster in the United States Postal Service.
Dee is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Wallace and Leroy, and her sister Dolores.
She is survived by Leonard Acquistapace, her four children, their spouses, and nine grandchildren:
Shawn & Tina Niess, Connor Niess, Savannah Niess, Jason & Chantel Niess, Makenzie Niess, Makayla Niess, Kaden Niess, Adam & Tiffany Mackey, Moira Mackey, Colin Mackey, Noreen Mackey, Robert Niess, and Robert E. Hager.
Despite the difficulty of her various health conditions, Dee remained a positive and joyful follower of Jesus. She was an amazing example of trusting in the Lord through the storms of life. She was encouraging, patient and generous. Her children rejoice that she's now home.
The family is exceedingly grateful for all the friends and family that have offered prayer and support throughout the difficulty of her illness and passing. We offer a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of Adventist Health Hanford for their kind and compassionate care in the ER, Hospital, and ICU.
