Obituary

On Monday, February 22 nd 2021, Candrise Lisa Luna age 16, beloved daughter and sister, left us to be with God in heaven.

Candrise is survived by her parents, Jonathan Marco and Gina Lee Luna, her siblings Shyann Lisa and Ahmizel Isaiah Luna; her grandparents Maria Isabel & Juan Manuel Luna and Tina & Eugene Erfurth.

On Friday, August 6 th 2004, at 1607, Candrise Lisa Luna blessed us with her birth at the hospital onboard Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA. She attended Akers Elementary School on base for Kindergarten thru Eighth grade. At school she was an avid runner and joined the "NAS Lemoore "K"ids Zone.." Basketball Golden State Warriors team. After she attended Lemoore High School for her freshman year and then transferred to Sierra Pacific High School for her sophomore and junior years.

Candrise loved to read books, being at the beach and lake, being around sand and the water, caring for animals, helping others, playing basketball and tennis, and being a free spirit. She would read books for hours at a time in her room, on the road, or wherever she was; even reading out loud in the backyard to Cecilio a stray cat. Her heart was always compassionate towards animals, caring for those abandoned. She would volunteer at the various animal sanctuaries on base, in Hanford and Fresno. One of her favorite things to do was feed the ducks at Hidden Valley Park Hanford. She enjoyed playing basketball and tennis outdoors at Sierra Pacific, honing her skills. She loved nature and to be outdoors, to be free.

Throughout her years in elementary, her teachers would say how pleasant she was to have in class. Throughout her life, people would tell us how polite and well-mannered she was after meeting her. When she got to know you better, you would see how funny and witty she was when joking around. Her responses at times were so quick, she would pause for a moment, look down then up, giving you enough time to comprehend what she just said.

She had a talent for naming animals with her sister and coming up with nicknames for people. She was reserved yet the most wonderful person to know if given the chance. Seeing her smile or hearing her laugh could cheer anyone up. She was headstrong and always thought of others, even making gifts for her sister on her own birthday so she would not feel left out. Her love and hugs made life worth living for.
